Music For Art's Sake.

Many of you know that in addition to being a musician and songwriter, I'm also a professional visual artist. A lot of what I've done over the past fifteen years or so has been in the realm of product and d├ęcor design. Most of that sort of thing carries a lot of proprietary baggage, so it wouldn't have been proper to showcase the work online. Industry secrets and all that. But I'm out of the industrial workforce these days, freelancing from home, and concentrating more on illustration and graphic design again. As for fine art, I haven't had a gallery show in quite a few years, but have a couple of projects in mind that may find all that changing soon as well.

Anyway, what I'm trying to get to is this: I love great art, and am really excited to be playing Springfield's Bing Arts Center again next Saturday. It's the opening reception for a show by the wonderful Daryl Zang (click that link and you'll see what I mean).

This will be a trio show, and we'll be playing some jazzy blues standards and some danceable instrumentals of my own work in addition to the usual janglepop. We're gonna dress nice and be cool and casual. We're not the headliners here, Daryl and her paintings are. See you there.
