Throwback Thursday.

My friend David Tolar reminded me (and many other people on Facebook) that today is the fourth anniversary of the now legendary show by Pugwash at The Basement in Northampton, Mass. Yours truly opened, and here's a photo taken by Jim Clark as I was joined by 3/4 of Pugwash for my last number. It was a fine night.

Heads Up: Autumn.

It's officially Fall as of today, and here's your reminder that The Prestons will be performing at the Pothole Pictures series in Shelburne Falls on Saturday, November 3rd. We'll be playing a half-hour set of our smash hits starting at 7pm, before that evening's screening of Chocolat.

We are an all-volunteer-run, non-profit, community movie house and we’ve been showing the best in classic, foreign, and independent films on the BIG screen in our historic, century-old 420-seat Memorial Hall Theater (at 51 Bridge Street – above Town Hall – in Shelburne Falls, MA) since 1995. We have frequent special events like “Meet the Filmmaker” nights and collaborations with local community organizations. Live, local musical acts play on stage for half-an-hour before each film. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for kids under 12.

Transperformance 28

On Tuesday August 21st, I'll be performing with Zip Cody & Friends at Transperformance, a wonderful annual event at the Pines Theater in Look Park. This year, we are transperforming ourselves into Adam & The Ants, and if the rehearsals are any indication, we are going to knock some socks off. The whole thing kicks off at 4pm, and goes until 9:30. We hit the stage at 8:45, but do come early and enjoy all the terrific acts that will be participating.

This is truly a highlight of the year for all of us, and once you attend, you'll see why. I've lost count of the times I've played it, but it's something very special indeed: an absolutely joyous homecoming.

Even More Advance Notice.

The Prestons will be performing as part of the 2018/2019 Fall/Winter Pothole Pictures series in Shelburne Falls on Saturday, November 3rd. As usual, more details will be forthcoming as we approach the date. But we're booked as of today, so get out your daily planners and pencil us in.

Color Me Weasel.

This Thursday evening, I'll be part of the opening act at Colorway's album release party at New City Brewery in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Get your tickets HERE. Colorway is a truly excellent band, featuring the songs of F. Alex Johnson, who also happens to be one of my favorite guitar players, local or elsewhere. The rhythm section features Riley Godleski behind the kit, and Matthew Clegg on bass. These guys ROCK.

"So what's this opening act?' you ask. Easy Weasel is a fun new project featuring yours truly, along with Brad Thayer from Glad Machine, and Chris Collingwood aka Look Park, that came together primarily for this Colorway shindig, but we're already booked for another show in July (details to follow). Perhaps there will be more, but for now, all you need to know is that this show on Thursday is sure to be a lot of fun. It's gonna be the first day of Summer. If you can be there, BE THERE.

The Prestons are confirmed for another 7-8pm slot at Luthiers Co-Op in Easthampton, Massachusetts on Friday, September 7th.  Details will be forthcoming as the date approaches, but we suggest you pencil us in on your calendar now. We don't want to miss you.

Alone.

I'll be playing a rare solo show during the 7-8pm slot at Luthiers Co-Op in Easthampton on Friday, May 25th. I might stand up. I might sit down. I might bring an acoustic, or I might go solo electric. Haven't decided yet. But there will be songs, so show up and I'll sing them at you.

The Prestons - April Gig.

The Prestons play the 7-8pm slot at Luthiers Co-Op in Easthampton, Massachusetts on Saturday, April 28th. The music continues with ReBelle from 8-9:30, and then Larry Dulong and Random Sighting from 9:30-11pm. Luthiers is a fantastic venue within a guitar shop. How cool is that? We love it there.
