I usually design my event posters, but it's always gratifying when a promoter or venue does this great a job on their own, and so far in advance. I'm really looking forward to playing this show.

Here are two photos by Julian Parker-Burns, taken during the show I played with Marc Delgado and Wounded Knee this past December at Luthier's Co-Op. Julian has a great eye for light, composition, and for capturing the interaction between the players within each performance.

New Year, New Gigs.

THE PRESTONS are confirmed for two shows in early 2019:
We're playing Luthiers Co-Op in Easthampton on Saturday, February 16th, and on Monday, March 11th, we'll be the featured act at Matt Silberstein's weekly open mic at The 413, also in Easthampton.

Two SOLO GIGS have been booked as well:
I'll be at Luthiers Co-Op on Saturday, March 2nd, and I'll be out in Somerville on Saturday, April 27th, for an Arts at the Armory show.

As usual, details will be forthcoming as these dates get closer.

Throwback Thursday.

My friend David Tolar reminded me (and many other people on Facebook) that today is the fourth anniversary of the now legendary show by Pugwash at The Basement in Northampton, Mass. Yours truly opened, and here's a photo taken by Jim Clark as I was joined by 3/4 of Pugwash for my last number. It was a fine night.

Heads Up: Autumn.

It's officially Fall as of today, and here's your reminder that The Prestons will be performing at the Pothole Pictures series in Shelburne Falls on Saturday, November 3rd. We'll be playing a half-hour set of our smash hits starting at 7pm, before that evening's screening of Chocolat.

We are an all-volunteer-run, non-profit, community movie house and we’ve been showing the best in classic, foreign, and independent films on the BIG screen in our historic, century-old 420-seat Memorial Hall Theater (at 51 Bridge Street – above Town Hall – in Shelburne Falls, MA) since 1995. We have frequent special events like “Meet the Filmmaker” nights and collaborations with local community organizations. Live, local musical acts play on stage for half-an-hour before each film. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for kids under 12.

Transperformance 28

On Tuesday August 21st, I'll be performing with Zip Cody & Friends at Transperformance, a wonderful annual event at the Pines Theater in Look Park. This year, we are transperforming ourselves into Adam & The Ants, and if the rehearsals are any indication, we are going to knock some socks off. The whole thing kicks off at 4pm, and goes until 9:30. We hit the stage at 8:45, but do come early and enjoy all the terrific acts that will be participating.

This is truly a highlight of the year for all of us, and once you attend, you'll see why. I've lost count of the times I've played it, but it's something very special indeed: an absolutely joyous homecoming.
